15 seconds for electoral transparency

MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Elections en banc decided to remove the printing function of the vote counting machines regarding vote receipts as this may cause delay in voting hours, which in turn may lead to electoral fraud. In its place, the COMELEC will allow voters to verify their votes onscreen for 15 seconds. If the voter commits an “under-vote” or incomplete shading, he or she can still correct the same. After the 15 seconds have lapsed, the vote counting machine will automatically print the ballot.
