Egypt releases footage of man described as hijacker at airport

ALEXANDRIA, EGYPT -Egypt’s interior ministry released footage on Tuesday (March 29) of a man they described as the hijacker of an Egypt air plane, passing through airport security before boarding the flight.

The footage was posted on the interior ministry’s social media accounts. It shows a screen showing people by a luggage x-ray machine before a person circled in red passes through. He appears to place his bag on the machine and pass through an x-ray before being frisked, picking up his bag and leaving.

The Egypt Air plane was flying from Alexandria to Cairo but forced to land in Cyprus on Tuesday by a man with what authorities said was a fake suicide belt. He was arrested after giving himself up.
