QUEZON City, Philippines – Incoming President Rodrigo Duterte revealed that Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called him to congratulate him in his victory in the May 9 elections. According to Duterte, he and Trudeau discussed in the nine-minute conversation the death of one of the Canadian hostages in Mindanao. Duterte said that he apologized for the incident and added that they also talked about protecting human rights.
