Senator Miriam Santiago ‘feeling better’

MAKATI City, Philippines — After being rushed to the intensive care unit of Makati Medical Center on Monday, Feisty Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago is now feeling better, according to a statement released by her office.

Santiago’s staff also confirmed that she is scheduled to return from ICU to a private room.

The lady senator, who has stage 4 lung cancer, was rushed by ambulance to the hospital on Monday due to complications.

Just last month, the senator, whose term ends on June 30, wrote Senate president Franklin Drilon to inform the chamber that she would continue with her medical leave as she had developed anorexia or inability to eat due to her medications. (Eagle News)
