QUEZON City, Philippines – President Benigno S. Aquino III needs to sign the proposed Centenarian Act so it could be turned into law before he leaves office.
The proposed act was endorsed to President Aquino after Congress approved their respective versions.Under the act, every Filipino, whether inside or outside the Philippines, who has reached the age of 100, will be honored by no less than the President and will receive a gift worth Php 100, 000.
Furthermore, September 25 will be considered as National Respect for Centenarians’ Day, if the act is signed into law.
