MANILA, Philippines – In an eleven-page resolution, the Supreme Court cleared that the Commission on Elections can implement the additional features found in voters’ receipts in the following elections, in reconsideration of the constitutional provision that the elections be held in the 2nd Monday of May. This is related to the writ of mandamus issued by the Supreme Court, commanding the COMELEC to issue voters’ receipt in the 2016 elections in order to verify if the machine read the votes correctly.
