(Eagle News) — The Department of the Interior and Local Government on Thursday, May 3, filed a second batch of cases against barangay officials who allegedly failed to set up a Barangay Anti-Drug-Abuse Council as required by the law.
Charged with misconduct of office and dereliction of duty before the Office of the Ombudsman were Talabaan chairperson Luna Gracio; Mariposa chairperson Charles Guya; Lanang chairperson Caesar Castillo; Gumahang chairperson Rodolfo Tolero; Bagauma chairperson Emerson Fajel; Bulalacao chairperson Lourdes Arguilles; San Isidro chairperson Alson Bertuldo; Balawing chairperson Leonides Villar Dones Jr.; and Nabongsoran chairperson Leo Cabarles.
All chairpersons are from Masbate.
On Monday, April 30, Interior Undersecretary Martin Diño and Assistant Secretary Ricojudge Janver Echiverri filed similar administrative complaints against the chairs of Barangays 471, 477, 482, 659-A, and 690 in Manila.
