(Eagle News) — The signed agreement on the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) between the Philippines and South Korea will help the conservation of forests in the country.
“Makakatulong ang bansang South Korea sa mga ASEAN members natin at bansang Pilipinas kung papaano mapapalawig ang ating kagubatan in terms of knowledge, technical knowhow and even resources,” DENR Undersecretary Jonas Leones said in a phone patch interview.
Aside from this, Leones said that the Philippine government is talking to one of South Korea’s companies that would help to speed up the internet connection and other web-based equipment in the country.
On Monday, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Roy Cimatu signed the agreement on the establishment of the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) at the Lotte Hotel in South Korea during the three-day official visit of President Duterte.
The signed agreement aims to strengthen ties, cooperation and partnership between the Philippines and South Korea.
