The Senate proposed a bill that aims to promote agricultural education and to promote “agri-preneurship”.
Senate Bill 2384 or Entrepreneurial Agricultural Education Act proposed by Senator Sonny Angara aims to create training programs for agricultural entrepreneurship, especially in rural areas.
The Senator also wants the establishment of Agricultural Manpower Education and Entrepreneurship System or AMEES and to also establish AMEES Development School or Farm Business School in all regions including the NCR.
Under AMEES, educational institutions and training centers will cooperate with agricultural, industrial, and business establishments to form a more effective dual training system including hands-on or in-school training.
The senator added that said bill will greatly help poor farmer families, as well as out-of-school youths in rural and agrarian reform communities.
