(Eagle News) — The alleged leader of a drug syndicate was killed in a buy-bust operation in Laguna on Thursday, June 28, the police said.
Authorities said Gaudencio Rojo III, leader of the Rojo Drug Group, was killed by police who retaliated after he shot at them upon sensing he was transacting with a police-poseur buyer in Barangay San Vicente, San Pedro, past 12 a.m.
The police said Rojo died as he was being brought to the hospital.
Recovered from him, the authorities said, were nine sachets of suspected shabu.
A .45 caliber-gun was also recovered from him.
