(Eagle News) — Alleged pork barrel scam whistleblower Marina Sula has recanted her earlier statement against former Senator Bong Revilla, saying she was only told by the prosecution to “corroborate” the statements of Benhur Luy, another alleged whistleblower.
Under direct examination in the Sandiganbayan, Sula, an employee of alleged pork barrel scam queen Janet Lim Napoles’ JLN Corporation, denied she met Revilla for the implementation of projects funded by the Priority Development Assistance Fund.
“Sinabihan po ako ng panel na mag-corroborate lang daw ako sa testimony ni Benhur Luy dahil kung hindi masisira ang kaso. Kahit na marami po siyang mga sinabi na hindi totoo,” Sula said.
For instance, Sula said it was Luy himself who signed the endorsement letter in Revilla’s name without the then-senator’s knowledge.
The prosecution denied the allegations and stood by their arguments.
But Revilla said the “revelations only confirm what I have known from the beginning – that I was targeted.”
He said he was eyeing to ask the court to exclude Luy from the Witness Protection Program and revoke his immunity. Meanne Corvera
