Amid rise in prices of commodities, NFA says prices of its imported rice to remain unchanged

(Eagle News) — The National Food Authority on Monday, May 28, said the prices of its imported rice that will be delivered to markets by June 5 will remain unchanged.

In an interview over Radyo Agila, NFA spokesperson Rex Estoperez said the P27 up to P32 per kilo price range was in compliance with a  directive from President Rodrigo Duterte.

He made the statement amid the rising prices in commodities which critics attribute to the implementation of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.

Several senators have particularly assailed the TRAIN provision that imposes excise tax on fuel.
