(Eagle News) — Senator Sonny Angara on Friday, Aug. 24, expressed dismay over what he said was the delay in the implementation of the free Wi-Fi project in state universities and colleges.
According to Angara, based on information from the Department of Information and Communications Technology, as of July, only two of the 112 SUCs have been given free Internet connectivity under the DICT’s Pipol Konek! Free Wi-Fi Project.
He said this was despite the fact Congress had already allotted P1.7 billion for the project—P327 million for SUCs, and P1.36 billion for public places.
Meanne Corvera
