IT was a hugely succesful night for Pixar’s animated movie “Inside Out” at the 43rd Annie Awards on Saturday (February 7) that picked up 10 awards including the prize for best animated feature.
“Sorry if you guys are sick of seeing us up here but we are very honored to be here and to have had the chance to work on such a meaningful film with such amazing people,” said director Pete Docter, after he picked up his final award for the night.
Brazilian filmmaker Ale Abreu’s “Boy and the World” took home the award for the best animated feature-international, a brand new category at the Annie Awards. Both “Inside Out” and “Boy and the World” will face off each other at the Academy Awards later this month.
Japanese director and animator Isao Takahata was honored with the Winsor McCay Award for Lifetime Achievement. Takahata, 80, was not present at the ceremony and his award was accepted by Geoffery Wexler of Studio Ghibli, a Japanese animation film company cofounded by Takahata himself. (Reuters)
