The Apollo Theater officially made Prince a part of its history by inducting him into their Walk of Fame on Monday (June 13).
Members of the late musician’s backing group, the New Power Generation band, young protege Andy ALLO and veteran singer Melissa Morgan were on hand for the ceremony in front of the famous theater in Harlem, New York.
Prince first performed at the venue in 1993 for a VH1 concert and through the years periodically returned.
Others stars with a bronze plaque in the sidewalk beneath the theater’s iconic marquee include Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. The Apollo began its walk of fame in 2010.
