Around 100 newly hired immigration officers to be deployed to NAIA, other int’l airports

The Bureau of Immigration is set to deploy additional 100 officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and other airports in the country in anticipation of the rush of “balikbayans” and vacationers this coming holiday season.

Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said he hoped the appointment papers of the new immigration officers will come out before October ends so they can start work in November.

He said the new officers served the immigration bureau for many years.

He said they were qualified for the assignment, noting that they had civil service eligibility.
