(Eagle News) — One of the police officers who arrested expelled Iglesia Ni Cristo member Lowell Menorca II detailed how he resisted arrest, and how his wife Jinky Seiko even snatched the arrest warrant that they had served to them and made a scene afterwards.
Police Officer Arnel Santos, in an interview with reporters, said that when the arresting team came to arrest Menorca, they presented their IDs and the warrant of arrest to Menorca and his wife. They said they were surprised when Jinky grabbed the arrest warrant and hid it inside their van. What followed was like a scene in a telenovela, he said.
“Pagbaba po namin ipinabasa ko po sa kanila, hinanapan po kami ng warrant saka po ng ID kasi naka-civilian lang po kami pero nung pagkakataon po na yun, wala po kaming dalang baril kasi naka gun ban. Kaya nung pinakita ko po yung warrant of arrest sa asawa ni Menorca, itinakbo nya po yung warrant sa loob ng Innova nya. Pagtakbo nya po sa Innova nya, inilagay po nya yung warrant saka ID tapos saka po sya lumabas at “Wala kayong warrant wala kayong mapakitang badge, wala kayong mapakitang ID!”
(We let them read it when we got out. They were asking for the warrant and IDs because we were in civilian clothes. At that time, we were not carrying guns because of the [election] gun ban. So when we showed the warrant of arrest to Menorca’s wife, she ran off with it and hid it in their Innova. When she ran to her Innova, she put the warrant and the ID inside, and then she went out and (shouted) ‘You don’t have any warrant, you cannot show any ID!’)
“Papano ko po mapapakita yung ID ko nasa kanya na saka yung warrant? Inilagay na po dun sa sasakyan. (How can I show the ID when it was with her, even the warrant? She hid it in their car),” Santos said.
Santos said that when he tried to retrieve the arrest warrant which Jinky Seiko Menorca hid in their car, her companion prevented him from doing so.
“Nung kinukuha ko na po dun sa sasakyan nya (ang arrest warant). Pinigilan po ako ng isa nyang kasama nakadilaw. Pagkatapos po, hinila po ako ng babae saka tinadyakan, tinadyakan po ako sa tuhod. Ito po ang tama ko sa tadyak na ginawa nya. (When I was trying to get [the arrest warrant] from their car, I was barred from doing so by their companion in yellow. After that, I was pulled by the woman and she kicked me. I was kicked in the knee. This was where I was hit),” recalled the police officer.
The police officer was interviewed by members of the media, including NET 25- Eagle News Team.
After Jinky Seiko hid the arrest warrant in their van, she then made a video recording of the scene where she was shouting at the arresting police officers and posted it immediately online.
