ASEAN aims to provide universal health care for those living below poverty line

The Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) targets to give universal health care to 90% of citizens who are living below the poverty line

ASEAN sees it as one of the solutions to lessen the large percentage of poor citizens in the region.

ASEAN member-nations who are already providing universal health care include Brunei Darussalam, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore while Indonesia expects to deliver a universal health care program by 2019
