At least nine Philippine National Police Academy cadets are facing criminal charges over the beating of six inspectors who just graduated from the institution on Wednesday.
Chief Supt. Joseph Adnol, PNPA director, said if found guilty, Donald Kissing, Jem Peralta, Clintjohn Baguidodol, Paul Christopher Macalalad, Loreto Tuliao Jr., and four others known only by their last names–Delos Santos, Calamba, Coplat and Amanon—will also be dismissed from the academy for mauling Insp. Ylam Lambenecio, Insp. Arjay Divino, Insp. Mark Kevin Villares, Insp. Floyd Traquena, Insp. Jan Paul Magmoyao and Top 9 graduate Jail Insp. Arjay Cuasay.
All six have since been discharged from the hospital.
According to Adnol, the complaints against the nine stemming from the attack that allegedly took place right after the inspectors’ commencement exercises were to be initiated by Lambenecio and Divino.
“Lumabas, the motive was (purely) to get even on their upperclass(men). Lumabas sila nagpapatupad ng strict implementation policy, at sila nangunguna kung may violation,” Adnol said.
Following the incident, Adnol tendered his resignation as PNPA director but PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa did not accept the same.
“Yung tinatawag nila na bawian so I have instructed… the PNPA director that this practice should be stopped,” Dela Rosa said, even as he clarified that the PNPA was not under him, but under the Philippine Public Safety College.
“This is a clear case of mauling..If this is true, this is barbaric and inhuman and this should not be tolerated,” Chief Supt. Mao Aplasca, Region 4A director, added.
