(Eagle News) — An augmentation force from Metro Manila has arrived in Cebu in time for a 17th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) meeting in July.
Authorities said the force tasked to beef up security at an Asean meeting at Radisson Blu Hotel from July 1 to 7 includes bomb squads, canine units, among others.
Apart from the augmentation force, personnel from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be deployed to install closed-circuit television cameras in the main venue of the meeting.
The MMDA personnel will also set up the CCTVs in the seven hotels where Asean representatives are expected to be billeted.
