(Reuters) — An Australian has set the Guinness World Record for the highest basketball shot, launching the ball from the top of a huge Swiss dam.
Derek Herron, a 28-year old from Perth, flew all the way to the Swiss Alps with his ‘How Ridiculous’ team members to score the impressive record from the top of Mauvoisin Dam, one of the highest dams in the world.
The Australian group performs different tricks and sporting antics and shares them on social media.
The video shows off the beautiful landscapes of the Swiss Mountains, as well as the successful launch from a high of 180m (593 ft), from different angles and perspectives.
Keith Bielory of ‘How Ridiculous’ told Reuters they couldn’t believe they had achieved their goal at just the third attempt.
“We thought going in that it was possible we could come away from the trip without even making the shot. So to be successful on the first morning was not only a moment filled with crazy amounts of excitement but also a huge amount of relief,” he said.
