(Eagle News) — Authorities foiled an attempt to export P5.2 million worth of shabu in three separate packages, the Bureau of Customs said.
The bureau said the suspicious content was found during a routine Customs X-ray by Ninoy Aquino International Airport personnel.
A physical examination yielded the 763 grams of illegal drugs concealed in a birdhouse, shuttlecock casing, and figure trimmer twister twist.
The shipments were supposed to be exported to Bahrain, United Kingdom and Australia, respectively.
The packages were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency today, July 30, for “profiling, case building and direct filing of charges against the violators,” the bureau said.
“Under the leadership of Commissioner (Rey) Guerrero, the BOC-NAIA through continuous and active collaboration with PDEA and NAIA-IADITG will remain steadfast and committed in the continuing war of President Rodrigo Duterte against prohibited drugs,” the bureau added.
