Bataan coastal towns residents evacuate due to threat of storm surge

Hundreds of residents from the coastal villages here were evacuated due to threat of storm surge that might be brought by typhoon Glenda.

As of 5 a.m. Wednesday, a total of 272 families or 673 persons from barangays Tortugas and Puerto Rivas in this city, including three families from barangay Balut in Pilar, are now at the Bataan People’s Center in the provincial capitol compound here after being evacuated due to fear of storm surge.

Light to moderate rains with strong windsnow over the province.

Power supply was cut due to strong winds.
