Muntinlupa Congressman Rodolfo Biazon will file a motion to suspend Congress’ deliberation of the Bangsamoro Basic Law despite the latter’s deadline to finish the BBL before this session ends in May. He added that clashes in Mamaspano had left deeper repercussions.
Biazon cited the 1996 Peace Accord between the MNLF, when the government hoped that the clashes in Mindanao would finally end between the military and the rebels. However, despite the peace talks, the MNLF had attacked, the latest of which was the Zamboanga Siege.
Biazon said that the public should understand the implications of the clashes in Mamaspano, which would then be the basis of the deliberation of the Bangsamoro Basic Law.
The former military chief also clarified that the two drones found in Quezon and Cagayan were not surveillance drones, but, target drones.
In the event that the international community would ask the country for an intelligence report regarding the international issue, Biazon said that this would not be an issue since the U.S. is an ally and there are ongoing talks regarding the matter.
However, American troops are not allowed to be deployed in any offensive launched by the Philippine military.
