Urges clients to report “unauthorized transactions” in their accounts
(Eagle News) — Banco de Oro on Friday said it had received reports of “potentially compromised” automated teller machines, urging its clients to contact their branches if they discovered unauthorized transactions in their accounts.
“Customers with unauthorized transactions may reach out to the bank via formal channels so that their cases may be properly investigated and, where confirmed as impacted, may be reimbursed,” BDO said.
The statement, however, did not say if those affected were only BDO cardholders who used the “potentially compromised” ATMs, or holders of other bank cards who used these on the same machines.
“BDO would like to reassure the public that it exerts all efforts to protect its cardholders and their transactions,” it said.
Last week, the Bank of the Philippine Islands was the subject of the ire of some of its clients after a “system glitch” caused them to lose money from their accounts.
Others saw the amount of cash in their accounts increase.
