QUEZON CITY, April 15 — The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is reminding all taxpayers that the deadline for the filing of 2015 Income Tax Returns and the payment of the tax due thereon, if any, is today, April 15, 2016.
There will be no extension of the said deadline just like what was strictly enforced during the income tax filing/payment deadline in 2015.
Tax returns filed and taxes paid after 5 pm of April 15, 2016 will be slapped with the corresponding penalties as provided for in the Tax Code. Penalties include 25% surcharge, 20% interest per annum and compromise penalty (according to schedule of penalties). (reytdlc)
