QUEZON City, Philippines – Outgoing Bureau of Customs Commissioner Alberto Lina expressed interest in heading the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to manage the traffic problem in Metro Manila.
Lina said that he believes that the government still needs his services and that his logistic skills qualify him for the position of chairman of the MMDA, although he is yet to formally submit his application to President-elect Rodrigo Duterte.
The outgoing Customs chief also supported the proposal to give emergency powers to Duterte.
If he would become the next MMDA chief, he said he would abolish the number coding system and rationalize the deployment of buses.
