(Eagle News)–Special Assistant to the President Bong Go denied he had tried to solicit funds from Coconut Industry Investment Fund-Oil Mills Group’s President Benedicto Lor for his Senate run.
In a radio interview on Sunday, July 15, Go said that while several groups were asking him to run, “wala po kaming ino-authorize na kahit sino to raise funds, kahit piso.”
He said in the first place, he should not be considered a candidate.
Lor had said couple Lou Luy and Jocel Luy, citing their supposed strong ties with Go, had solicited the funds.
But Lor supposedly refused.
Several officials from the CIIF-OMG, including Lor, offered to resign after a new president was nominated by the Palace.
