(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte has plans of visiting Malaysia, his aide Bong Go said on Monday, July 9.
Go made the announcement after revealing the President was planning to talk to Mahathir Mohamad within the day to congratulate him for his return at the helm of Malaysia in the country’s recent elections.
The President last visited Malaysia in 2016.
The country was then headed by Najib Razak, who lost to Mahathir amid allegations of corruption against him.
The Palace has described the new Malaysian leader “an old friend.”
