QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Bank of the Philippine Islands assured its clients that there were no missing funds in their accounts after the three-day computer glitch.
In the hearing conducted by the Senate Committee on Banks, BPI said that its clients can easily find out the status of their accounts simply by visiting the nearest BPI branch.
BPI also insisted that there was no hacking attempt on its network but that it was merely a computer glitch stemming from human error.
“Our investigation revealed that ours was a case of human error and not a hacking. We also informed our regulators that there was no breach of data privacy,” BPI President and Chief Executive Officer Cezar Consing said during the hearing.
