WASHINGTON,United States (AFP) — Republican presidential front runner Donald Trump said Tuesday he now considers himself the “presumptive nominee” after sweeping the day’s five primaries in northeastern states.

“This was, to me, our biggest night,” Trump said after winning the nominating contests in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

“I consider myself the presumptive nominee, absolutely. Senator (Ted) Cruz and Governor (John) Kasich should get out of the race. They have no paths. We should heal the Republican Party.”
