MAY 19 (Reuters) — Britain’s Queen Elizabeth attended the launch of the annual Chelsea Flower Show in London on Monday (May 18), where the finest horticulturists from all over the world exhibit their meticulously designed gardens.
The Queen and her husband the Duke of Edinburgh were joined at the lavish flower show by Prince Charles and his wife Camilla as well as Prince Harry.
She was shown around various gardens by officials and watched the unveiling of a sculpture called “Candy” by artist Paul Cummins, who was behind last year’s much praised Tower of London poppies installation marking 100 years since the start of World War One.
The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show takes place at the Royal Hospital in Chelsea and runs from May 19-23, 2015.
