MANILA, Sept. 14 (PNA) — The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Cagayan province is now in full alert due to the expected landfall of typhoon “Luis” in that Northern Luzon province.
Senior Supt. Ronaldo Olay, chief of the Cagayan provincial police, said on Sunday that municipal chiefs of police were alerted and told to coordinate with their mayors in preparing for the possible effects of the typhoon.
“As of now, makulimlim dito (cloudy) sa Tuguegarao but no rains/winds yet. Full alert declared effective 12 noon today in Cagayan province only,” he said in a text message.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), typhoon “Luis” continues to move west-northwest at 20 kilometers per hour and if it maintains its speed and movement, the typhoon is expected to make landfall in Cagayan-Isabela area by Sunday afternoon or evening.
