Haze threatens Metro Manila

After spreading to Mindanao, the haze from Indonesia has further spread to the Visayas, and may even reach Metro Manila, if another storm hits the country. China, ASEAN issue declaration on security cooperation

China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) say in a joint declaration on law enforcement cooperation that dialogue mechanisms will be established with other countries and international organizations are welcome to join. The statement also invited Cambodia and Vietnam to be observer states in the mechanisms. Chinese diplomats killed in Cebu

Chinese Consul General Song Rong Hua, his deputy and a senior staff member in Chinese consulate in Cebu were shot at a birthday lunch in a popular restaurant there on Wednesday, October 21. The consul-general was able to survive his gunshot wounds but Deputy Consul General Sun Shan and Finance Officer Hui Li died from while being treated in hospital.
