In Hong Kong, 26 demonstrators were injured after being subjected to tear gas and beatings in the continuing pro-democracy rallies. This resulted in the declaration of formal civil disobedience in the said Chinese territory, where classes and work were suspended. Said demonstration is now at its third day.
