DENR declares Sabang and Coron as water quality management areas

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources has declared Coron Bay in Palawan and Sabang Bay in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro as water quality management areas. According to Environment Secretary Ramon Paje, this is to further protect these areas of marine biodiversity against the rapid growth of ecotourism activities in Palawan. Sabang Bay in Puerto Galera and the Coron Bay in Palawan are both world-class diving sites. (Eagle News)
