DOLE studies deployment ban in the Middle East
QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Department of Labor and Employment is studying the possibility of implementing a deployment ban of overseas Filipino workers in the Middle East. Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said that this was in light of the agency receiving numerous reports of abuse on OFWS there. ERC confirms Meralco refund
QUEZON City, Philippines – The Energy Regulation Commission has ordered the Manila Electric Corp. to refund around Php 7 billion in supposed overcharges to consumers. Meralco customers are set to receive a 75-centavo refund for every kilowatt-hour as a result. The ERC said this will take effect in June and July.
