Sabtang, Batanes hit by 4.6-magnitude quake

(Eagle News) — A 4.6-magnitude earthquake hit the town of Sabtang in Batanes on Thursday morning, March 2. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said the quake was felt at 164 kilometers south of Sabtang at 9:27 a.m. The tremor’s epicenter was traced at 49 kilometers west of Sabtang, Batanes. There were no aftershocks reported.

Davao Mayor Duterte gives birth to baby boy

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte became a grandfather once again after his daughter gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Thursday. Davao Mayor Sara Duterte gave birth to the presidential grandson via Cesarean section at 12:56 p.m. The boy weighs 2.42 kilos or 5.3 pounds, and is reportedly stable and generally fine. The Davao mayor is married to fellow lawyer Manases Carpio, who is the nephew of Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales.
