The Congress has already formed the ad-hoc committee that will screen the draft of the Bangsamoro Basic Law. Presidential expenditure

The government set aside Php 31.9 million for President Aquino’s 8-day work visit to Spain, Belgium, France and Germany. According to Executive Secretary Pacquito Ochoa Jr., said funds will be used for transportation, food, accommodation, equipment and other administrative requirements of the President and his delegation. The President’s delegation is composed of 13 members. The President aims to strengthen the diplomatic and trade relations between the Philippines and the European Union.

Government caretaker

Malacañang defended President Aquino’s position of not delegating a government caretaker in his absence during his working visit in Europe. President Aquino in a European trip

President Aquino has arrived in Madrid, Spain for his 8-day work visit in Europe. The President was welcomed by the Ambassador and several Spanish counterparts at the Torrejon airbase. According to the President, his expects 86 engagements in his four-nation trip. New ferry station

A new ferry station will be opened today at the Pasig River. According to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Francis Tolentino, the 7th passenger terminal in San Joaquin, Pasig will help lessen the traffic problem of Metro Manila. Tolentino added that the five ferries will accept passengers at the San Joaquin terminal and bring them to Guadalupe, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Plaza Mexico, Intramuros and Escolta.

Mechanical failure sinks ship

The sinking of M/V Maharlika II in seas near San Ricardo, Leyte was attributed to mechanical failure. Cagayan residents, evacuated

Residents of the towns of Gonzaga and Aparri, Cagayan were evacuated due to the threat of floods brought by “Luis”. According to the report, the preemptive evacuation affected 153 families.
