Chinese national and Filipino worker kidnapped in Borneo, freed by Abu Sayyaf

May 31 (Reuters) – Two women, including a Chinese national, who were kidnapped on the Malaysian island of Borneo in early April have been freed with no ransom demanded by the abductors, local media reported. PNP ready for school opening; 18,000 cops to be deployed nationwide

The Philippine National Police is ready for the school opening on June 2, and they will respond not only to petty crimes but to acts of bullying as well.  Some 18,000 policemen will be deployed nationwide for the school opening next week.  At least 2,500 will be deployed in Metro Manila alone.  The police also gave some safety tips for student and their parents, particularly to avoid robbers, kidnappers and other criminals.
