19 women saved in Pasay club raid

Nineteen women, including 13 Filipinas, 3 Ukrainians and 3 Russians, were saved in a raid conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation in a nightclub in Pasay City. The raid at the Starwood VIP Lounge was conducted by the NBI’s Anti-Trafficking Division with a team from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The NBI said this was the first time it encountered foreigners working as sex workers in the country.

Senator Jinggoy Estrada not worried about Napoles statement

Senator Jinggoy Estrada is not worried with the statement made by Janet Lim Napoles regarding his involvement in the pork barrel scam. He added that he’ll only be worried if there are threats that influenced Napoles to indict the three senators. Accoridng to Justice Secretary Leila De Lima, Napoles has revealed many information but refrains from revealing them, saying that she will wait for Napoles to finish her sworn statement.

Philippine embassy denies US “No Visa” policy

The Philippine embassy in the United States denied the reports that the US State has a new “no visa” policy for Filipinos that is spreading in the social media. The embassy has coordinated with the US State Department, saying there had been no such announcements.

LRT 1 suffers minor breakdown

Due to the lost of traction power in its brake system, a southbound train of the LRT-1 stopped in Blumentritt station. After a systems resetting, LRT-1 operations went back to normal quickly.
