Fire in Caloocan affects 1,000 families

An estimated 1,000 families were affected by a fire in Brgy. 120, Caloocan City. The fire started on Sunday, 5 in the afternoon and lasted until Monday morning at six. One was reported dead and several injured as the fire spread to nearby barangays.

NFA Awards Rice Import To Vietnam

The National Food Authority said on Tuesday that Vietnam emerged as the lowest bidder for the contract to supply 800,000 metric tons of rice to the Philippines this year. NFA spokesman Rex Estoperez said NFA would likely award the contract to import 800,000 metric tons of rice to Vietnam.

MMDA To Hire 300 Students For Their “Special Program For The Employment Of Students’

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is accepting applicants for this year’s Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES). Aim of this program is to help students to earn money for their college tuition fees this coming school year 2014-2015. This special progra is supported by Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
