President Bongbong Marcos appoints Cheloy Garafil as PCO Secretary

(Eagle News) — President Bongbong Marcos has appointed Cheloy Garafil as secretary of the Presidential Communications Office. The PCO said Garafil, a lawyer, took her oath before the President. Garafil served as officer-in-charge of the Office of the Press Secretary before she was appointed. Prior to this, she  served as chair of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, and as Department of Justice prosecutor.  

Presidential adviser Carlito Galvez, Jr. is new Defense chief

(Eagle News) — Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. is the new secretary of the Department of National Defense. According to the Presidential Communications Office, Galvez has already accepted the post offered by President Bongbong Marcos. Inflation accelerated to 8.1% in December 2022: PSA
