(Eagle News)–A rainfall advisory has been raised over parts of Northern Luzon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said light  to moderate with occasionally heavy rains are being experienced over Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran) and Isabela (Cauayan City, San Guillermo, Angadanan, Luna, Reina Mercedes, Cabatuan, Aurora, Benito Soliven, Naguillan). (Eagle News)–Four volcanic quakes were monitored at Kanlaon in 24 hours. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said steam and sulfur dioxide emissions were monitored at the volcano, which remains on alert level 1. 4.2-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental early Saturday, Oct. 10. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 5:35 a.m., had its epicenter 284 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of 262 kilometers and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Customs bureau seizes P96.6 million worth of misdeclared cigarettes

(Eagle News) — The Bureau of Customs has seized P96.6 million worth of misdeclared cigarettes in Davao. In a statement, the bureau said the four 40-footer container vans were intercepted following advance information from intelligence sources. The shipment containing 3,628 boxes of assorted branded cigarettes, was consigned to Allycorp International Inc. 3.7-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Thursday, Oct. 8. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 4:53 a.m., had its epicenter 130 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos. It had a depth of 29 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Customs bureau destroys over P50 million worth of misdeclared cigarettes

(Eagle News)–The Bureau of Customs has destroyed over P50 million worth of misdeclared cigarettes from China. The bureau said the 79800 cigarettes were destroyed inside a warehouse facility in Opol, Misamis Oriental on Friday, October 2. Also destroyed were cigarettes  contained in a shipment consigned to Fern Freight Enterprises, which arrived at Mindanao Container Terminal in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental on May 14. (Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Norte on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 6:40 a.m., had its epicenter 67 kilometers southeast of General Luna. It had a depth of one kilometer and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks.
