4.4-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 9:22 p.m., had its epicenter 71 kilometers northeast of Bayabas. It had a depth of seven kilometers and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.6-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur; PHIVOLCS says quake is aftershock of 5.7-magnitude quake on Sept. 27

(Eagle News) — A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 2:41 p.m., was an aftershock of the 5.7-magnitude quake that hit the area on Sept. 27. The 3.6-magnitude quake had its epicenter 71 kilometers northeast of Bayabas. It had a depth of 18 kilometers and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

PNP suspends issuance of travel authority for LSIs, others going to N. Occidental

(Eagle News)–A heavy rainfall warning has been raised over parts of Mindanao. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the yellow warning level in Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Sur, Lanao del Norte, and Bukidnon was due to the southwest monsoon.
