4.0-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental early Wednesday, Sept. 16

(Eagle News)–A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental early Wednesday, Sept. 16. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 2:41 a.m., had its epicenter 423 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of 79 kilometers, and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

PNPA extends lockdown to Sept. 30

(Eagle News)–Seven volcanic earthquakes were monitored at Taal in the last 24 hours. Municipal trial court of Bocaue, Bulacan physically closed until Sept. 25

(Eagle News)–The municipal trial court of Bocaue, Bulacan is physically closed starting today, Sept. 14. A memorandum from Acting Presiding Judge Myrna Lagrosa said this was after a staff member of the court tested positive for COVID-19. The memorandum said the court shall remain closed until Sept. 25. All court personnel shall work from home during the period, the memorandum said. The Department of Health has so far confirmed over 261,000 COVID-19 cases.  

4.3-magnitude quake jolts Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Monday, Sept. 14. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 10:47 a.m., had its epicenter 246 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of 21 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded. Earlier, a 4.5-magnitude earthquake also struck off Davao Occidental.  

Rainfall advisory raised over parts of Visayas

(Eagle News)–A rainfall advisory has been raised over parts of Visayas. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said light to moderate with occasional heavy rains are expected over Leyte within two to three hours. (Eagle News)–Fifteen volcanic quakes were monitored at Kanlaon in 24 hours. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said a moderate emission of white steam-laden plumes was also observed in the volcano, which remains on alert level 1. (Eagle News)–A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental early Monday, Sept. 14. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 4:41 a.m., had its epicenter 287 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. (Eagle News)–A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Sunday, Sept. 13. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 8:41 a.m., had its epicenter 208 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of 63 kilometers and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–Seven volcanic earthquakes were monitored at Taal in 24 hours. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said very weak steaming was also observed from fissure vents along the Daang Kastila Trail of the volcano, which remains on alert level 1.
