3.8-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur early Sunday

(Eagle News)–A 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur early Sunday, Sept. 13. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 4:34 a.m., had its epicenter 92 kilometers northeast of Bayabas. It had a depth of four kilometers and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

PCG, PPA vow to institutionalize “inter-service operability” in waterways, ports

Thunderstorm advisory raised over parts of N. Luzon

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been raised over parts of Northern Luzon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to occasionally heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Kalinga (Balbalan, Lubuagan, Pasil, Tanudan and Tinglayan) within 30 minutes to an hour. DOTr: Over 193,000 OFWs transported to provinces so far under Hatid-Tulong program

(Eagle News)–Over 193,000 Overseas Filipino Workers have been transported to their respective provinces under the government’s Hatid-Tulong program. The Department of Transportation said the 193236 OFWs were as of Sept. 10. Of these, 60363 were transported by land, 89400 via air transport, and 43473 via sea transport. (Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck off La Union early Saturday, Sept. 12. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 3:49 a.m., had its epicenter 25 kilometers northwest of San Fernando. It had a depth of 61 kilometers and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
