(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Eastern Samar early Saturday, Aug. 1. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 3:51 a.m., had its epicenter 11 kilometers northeast of Mercedes. It had a depth of 43 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental early Friday, July 31. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 12:46 a.m., had its epicenter 328 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of 10 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks are expected.

Former Dinagat Islands Rep. Ecleo nabbed in Pampanga

(Eagle News)–Former Dinagat Rep. Ruben Ecleo Jr. has been arrested. Authorities nabbed Ecleo, who had been convicted of parricide and of graft and corruption over several anomalous projects when he was mayor of San Jose, near Beverly Golf in San Fernando, Pampanga. (Eagle News)–A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck off Zamboanga del Norte on Thursday, July 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 1:17 p.m., had its epicenter 62 kilometers northwest of Liloy. It had a depth of 56 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

4.2-magnitude quake hits E. Samar early Thursday

(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Eastern Samar early Thursday, July 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the epicenter of the quake, which hit at 3 a.m., was  74 kilometers northeast of San Policarpio. Depth of focus was 22 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

San Fernando City, Pampanga vice mayor says he tested positive for COVID-19
