4.4-magnitude earthquake strikes off Eastern Samar

(Eagle News) — A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck off Eastern Samar on Tuesday, May 23. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 6:02 a.m. The epicenter was 58 kilometers northeast of San Julian. The depth of focus was 15 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

4.0-magnitude earthquake strikes Antique

(Eagle News)–A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck Antique on Sunday, May 21. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 6:27 a.m. The epicenter was 11 kilometers northeast of Ibajay. The depth of focus was three kilometers. The following instrumental intensities were reported: Instrumental Intensities: Intensity III – Pandan, Antique; Ibajay, Aklan Intensity II – Malay, Aklan Intensity I – Malinao, Aklan No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

17 volcanic earthquakes recorded in Bulusan since May 7: PHIVOLCS

(Eagle News)–Bulusan volcano has recorded 17 volcanic earthquakes since May 7, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said on Tuesday, May 9. PHIVOLCS said the earthquakes occurred at depths of 0 to 5.2 kilometers beneath the eastern section of the volcano. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 8:13 a.m. The epicenter was 331 kilometers southeast of Balut Island. The depth of focus was 34 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

(Eagle News)– A 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental early Sunday, May 7. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 10:51 a.m. It said its epicenter was 365 kilometers southeast of Balut Island. The depth of focus was 50 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.
