PNP: Rifle used to kill Degamo recovered

(Eagle News)–The rifle used in the killing of Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo has been recovered. The police said the rifle was retrieved from  the suspects. The Special Investigation Task Force (SITG) tasked to probe the case is also looking into the other firearms used in the March 4 attack. Negros Oriental governor hurt in Pamplona shooting

(Eagle News)–Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo was hurt in a shooting incident on Saturday, March 4. Authorities said several civilians were also hurt when the suspects attacked in Barangay San Isidro, Pamplona past 9 a.m. Degamo was reportedly attending a 4Ps event when the incident occurred. The Police Regional Office-7 said witnesses described the suspects “in full battle gear” and in “pixelized uniform.” The victims were rushed to the nearest hospital. An investigation is underway.

(Eagle News) — More than 100 people were rescued after a vessel ran aground off Bohol on Tuesday, the Philippine Coast Guard said on Wednesday, March 1. (Eagle News) — A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur early Tuesday, March 1. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 4:11 a.m. The epicenter was 43 kilometers northeast of Hinatuan. The depth of focus was 22 kilometers. The following intensities were reported: Intensity III – City of Bislig, Surigao del Sur No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.
